Common EK-50 Questions

How do I connect the EK-50 to my computer via MIDI and use it with my DAW?
Connect the EK-50 to your computer using a USB cable. Then, in your DAW's MIDI settings, select the EK-50 as both the MIDI input and output device. Make sure to set the EK-50's Local Control to 'Off' if you only want to hear sounds from the DAW.
How can I save a custom Style (accompaniment pattern) that I've edited on the EK-50?
Unfortunately, you cannot directly save edits made to the preset Styles on the EK-50. However, you can record your performance using the sequencer and save that as a User Song.
What's the quickest way to transpose the entire keyboard up or down an octave?
Press and hold the 'Function' button, then use the '+' and '-' buttons in the 'Transpose' section to adjust the octave setting. Release the 'Function' button when done.
My EK-50's screen is displaying 'Data Error' when I try to load a Song. What does this mean and how can I fix it?
The 'Data Error' message typically indicates a corrupted Song file or a problem with the USB drive's formatting. Try re-downloading the Song from a trusted source, or reformatting the USB drive to FAT32 and trying again.
The EK-50 features 'Styles.' What exactly are these and how do I use them to create a full song arrangement?
Styles are pre-programmed accompaniment patterns that automatically generate backing tracks based on the chords you play on the keyboard. Select a Style, play chords in the left hand, and the EK-50 will create a full arrangement in real-time, allowing you to improvise melodies with your right hand.
