Common Behringer PRO-1 Questions
How do I sync the PRO-1 to other devices using MIDI?
Connect the MIDI output of your master clock device to the MIDI input of the PRO-1. Then, set the 'MIDI Channel' rotary switch on the PRO-1's back panel to the same channel as your master clock device is transmitting on, or set it to 'ALL' to receive on any channel.
Can I save and recall patterns or presets on the PRO-1?
The PRO-1 is a purely analog synthesizer with no digital memory; therefore, you cannot save or recall any patterns, presets, or kits directly on the device. You must manually recreate your desired sounds and sequences each time.
What do the 'Filter Envelope Amount' and 'Oscillator Envelope Amount' knobs do?
The 'Filter Envelope Amount' knob controls how much the filter cutoff frequency is modulated by the filter envelope. Similarly, 'Oscillator Envelope Amount' controls the depth of envelope modulation applied to the oscillator pitch.
Why is there no sound coming from my PRO-1, even though the power is on and I have MIDI connected?
First, ensure the volume knob is turned up. Then, check that an oscillator is selected (A or B) and that the gate/trigger source is active. Double check that the VCA (Voltage Controlled Amplifier) EG amount is not set to zero and that the VCA mode is set to EG and not to ON for constant audio pass-through.
What is the purpose of the External Signal Input and how can I use it?
The 'External Signal Input' allows you to process external audio signals through the PRO-1's filter and VCA circuits, effectively turning it into an analog effects processor. Simply connect your external audio source to the input and adjust the filter and VCA controls to shape the sound.
