Common Arturia MicroFreak Questions
How do I sync the MicroFreak's sequencer to an external MIDI clock source like a DAW?
In the MicroFreak's Utility menu (hold Shift + press the first oscillator type button), set 'Clock Source' to 'External'. Ensure your DAW is sending MIDI clock on the same channel the MicroFreak is set to receive on (default channel 1).
How do I save a sound I've created on the MicroFreak?
Press the 'Save' button, then use the touch strip to select a preset slot. Press 'Save' again to confirm; the display will briefly show 'Saved!'
How do I quickly transpose the entire sequence up or down an octave?
Hold the 'Octave' button and press the touch strip to select the desired octave transposition. The display will show the octave offset.
My MicroFreak is making no sound even though I have the volume up and am playing the keyboard. What could be wrong?
Check that the VCA Envelope Amount is greater than 0 and/or that the Gate Source isn't set to 'Hold'. Also, confirm you haven't accidentally muted the oscillator(s) using the Oscillator Type selection buttons.
What are the 'Spice' and 'Dice' knobs used for, and how do they affect the sequence?
'Spice' adds subtle variations to the sequence, such as note probability or ratcheting, while 'Dice' randomizes parameters like gate, pitch, or slide. Experiment with both to create evolving and unpredictable patterns.
